It’s been a while since I’ve done a maternity shoot so I was itching to find a nice round belly I could photograph. Lucky for me one of the moms at preschool is due to have her 2nd boy in just a few short weeks :).
Shannon and Les already have one super adorable little man, so I’m so excited that there’s another one on his way! Not only was I blessed with a beautiful momma-to-be and her family to shoot, they have an AMAZING property with tall grass and wildflowers, a barn, and horses too – I was in heaven!
Wyatt was more than happy to lead the way and find the perfect spot for our first set of pictures. He insisted on being my assistant, a request I was more than happy to oblige. The shoot may have taken longer, to accommodate his need to shoot his own pictures after every set I took, but it was well worth it to see the joy and excitement he got out of being a little photographer! Having four boys of my own, I know how difficult it can be to keep their attention on something, especially something as
boring wonderful as posing for pictures, so to find something that interests them and holds their attention for a while is priceless!
Shannon was also wanting to have a few pictures with her precious horse, Gracie, which was a first for me. I adore horses but have never tried to photograph one before this night. So I consulted with my trusty friend Google in the days leading up to the shoot and got a few ideas in mind, and then just went for it. I have a long way to go in my equine photography, but I’m pleased with how my first attempt turned out :). I’ll show them to you in one of their upcoming blog posts.
Be sure to watch for part 2 of their blog in a couple of days! If you like this post, be sure to give it a vote (little red box with a number in it at the bottom left of the post – when you hover your mouse over it a heart will appear that you can click on)!
